Saturday 14 Jan 2012 - I am going to sleep very well tonight. Early start this morning, picking up Shikha and heading down to Mantra Legends on the Gold Coast by 9am for our work conference. One of the better conferences I've been to, we walked into the function room to a bongo-y type drum at each seat, and 4 people leading the drumming on stage. For about 20 minutes we beat away happily on our drums, following the lead drummer. SO much fun! Although my hands hurt a bit after a while, it was a great way to loosen up and get everyone pumped up for the morning ahead.
The guest speaker was Tom O'Toole, the owner of Beechworth Bakery, the most sucessful bakery in Australia. He was quite a character, and kept the crowd enthralled for the whole time he was on stage. Very entertaining and inspiring, as you'd hope a motivational speaker would be. After lunch we had fun doing The Amazing Race around Surfers. Fun, but exhausting. I had to head back to Brisbane while the others stayed on the Coast for the Awards night.

Tonight I saw the Arctic Monkeys concert at Riverstage, my favourite outdoor venue. They were fantastic, but I really, really liked the support act, Miles Kane. He is wonderful. And he has legs so thin that, in his tight red jeans, would make many a woman jealous! I have wanted to see him live since he and Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys collaborated in a side project called The Last Shadow Puppets. Please check this song out and see how good this guy is (Alex is kinda talented too!). <3
