Day 9 Hot Hot Hot

Monday 9 Jan 2012 - Today it is hot in Brisbane. Being summer, it's kind of UNsurprising. And yet, people around me have been complaining about the heat as though it's never been hot here before. I think of this reaction whenever others complain about being too cold in winter (which is sooo good in Brisbane) and wishing it was summer. Be careful what you wish for, I say! I never wish for summer. It is stinking hot and humid in Brisbane for about 3 months, and glorious for the rest of the year.

Today my friend's Mum had a fall while playing tennis and broke her arm and had to be operated on as soon as she got to a hospital. Hopefully she will recover quickly and take it easy while the family look after her. It made me think about how important Mums are, and how they can never get sick or hurt, else the family fall to pieces. I never want to take my mother or any of my family for granted. Too special!

On a lighter note, Brett at work took my photo of the day today - and passed on a fantastic Android phone app called Paper Camera. It does lots of good things to photos, like this for example:

Day 9 photo - me being intelligent &/or thoughtful, which is the look I was going for - or - toothache &/or taking a quick nap, as it seems to have turned out (my computer looks rad in the background though)
